The Masterpost of Diversity p.2

Well, here we are, list number two. Hopefully, this list will be longer than the last. Once again, leads count, all else does NOT. Also once again, please tell me if I missed a trigger warning, you want to add a book, I was wrong about the diverse-ness, or if the book is actually really offensive and I need to take it off (I haven't read most of these books, sorry!).

  1. I applaud you for compiling this long list of YA books with diverse characters and settings. However, you have my novel NO SURRENDER SOLDIER on the wrong continent. It takes place in Guam, which is part of the Mariana Islands in West Pacific. Chamorros are the indigenous people of the Marianas. Kiko, a 15-year-old Chamorro boy is the main character (protagonist) in NO SURRENDER SOLDIER. The story is told in two points of view and Isamu Seto, the antagonist, is a Japanese WWII soldier/survivalist hiding on Guam. So, NO SURRENDER SOLDIER could be classified as either Pacific Islands, or Asian-Pacific. But between North America and Asian (without a Pacific choice) then Asian would be more accurate. Thank you.

  2. I'd like to add under bi-racial: (In Hawaiian we call them "hapas".)
GIRL FROM THE WELL by Rin (which you have under Asian. It takes place in N. Am. & Japan and the protagonist is hapa.)
JET BLACK AND THE NINJA WIND by Leaza Lowitz & Shogo Oketani
    INK by Amanda Sun
Thanks again for compiling these lists!
